Here on the west coast of Vancouver Island, we live in a rain forest, so it really doesn't matter what time of year you decide to get married, you NEED a rain plan! The plan doesn't have to be perfect, backup plans rarely are, but you do need to discuss what will happen to your wedding in the event of rain. Often in the summer, the showers are fleeting and just pushing the ceremony back 15 or 20 minutes can make a difference. Tents aren't the best rain plan, because nyou need to order them well in advance and they take hours to set up, so the best bet is just to have a back up plan that involves using what you already have. If that means having your ceremony in the middle of the dining tables, or handing everyone umbrellas as they arrive, make sure you discuss it with your fiance and be prepared for whatever mother nature hands out!
